Atec Gains Authorised Economic Operator Status

After 12 months of hard work, we’re delighted to report Atec has been approved for Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status (awarded in January 2021). Atec is one of only 1,000 businesses in the UK that currently hold this internationally recognised quality mark, awarded by the government.

As UK organisations now face more complex rules around moving goods to and from the European Union, following the UK’s departure from the EU last December, this status confirms Atec’s role in the international supply chain is secure that the business has customs control procedures that meet AEO standards and criteria.

The mutual benefits of Atec holding this status include:

  • A faster application process for customs simplifications and authorisations
  • A lower risk score which may reduce the number of checks customs carry out on documents and goods
  • A guarantee waiver up to the level of your deferment account
